ABOUT US

What is Norkalni?

A Christian centre providing areas for camps and various events. Our mission is to act as a place of spiritual rejuvenation where one can hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

OUR VALUES

Christian values

We offer Christian churches and organisations a venue for hosting camps and event programs promoting the propagation of Christian outreach and consolidation of Christian values in the society. We advocate the teaching and understanding of Biblical Truths, active and healthy communities, strong and natural families, Christian upbringing, and education of children and young people.

Support

We develop various support programs and welcome children from low-income families and orphanages to participate in our camps free of charge. Apart from that, we maintain social support projects to tend to the needs of our community.

Cooperation

We serve as a venue for camps and events held by different Christian confessions and organisations. Our grounds also welcome inter-confessional camps and events. We establish cooperation with businesses, government, and municipal institutions, as well as organisations and communities outside Latvia.

Movement

We offer our territories for various sports activities, hikes, and teambuilding events. Camping and event programs promote active and athletic lifestyles, especially among children and youth. We stand for a healthy and active lifestyle.

HISTORY

The Latvian Christian Mission (a public welfare organisation) has been hosting camps for children for over 30 years. In 2001, it was granted an opportunity to acquire property for establishing a camping centre. This has been fulfilled with the support of the England-based international Christian organisation “Children Worldwide”, which helped purchase the land and commence the centre construction works.

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

Thanks to numerous volunteers and supporters, we have been able to achieve a lot. However, there is still much to be done in order to make Norkalni an even greater camp and event venue.

Children’s playgrounds and playing fields

New high-quality sports and active leisure areas

Equipment for active leisure (bows, bicycles, etc.)

Building a kitchen in the Tabor House
